Florida Medicaid is a medical assistance program that gives low-income individuals and families access to health care that they may not have otherwise. Medicaid is also offered to people with disabilities and the elderly that need assistance with the rising cost of long-term care.

What are Florida’s Medicaid Qualifications Requirements?

In order to receive Medicaid benefits certain eligibility requirements need to be met in the state of Florida. To qualify for benefits, you must:

  • Be over the age of 64; or
  • Be pregnant or have a child 18 or under; or
  • Be blind or disabled; or
  • Have a child, parent, or spouse in your household who is blind or disabled

Qualifications also must include an annual household income (before taxes that is below a determined amount.
